Porch continues to honor active members of Indiana through The International Center’s Citizen of the Year award video.
International Citizen of the Year 2022 - Tamika Catchings
Every year, since 1985, The International Center honors a member of Indiana through the International Citizen of the Year Award. This year’s honoree was Tamika Catchings. As stated by the International Center’s Board Chair, Priscila Vansetti, “It was her athletic talent that first brought Tamika to Indiana, but it’s her actions off the court that make her our International Citizen of the Year. Tamika is dedicated to uplifting the community towards success – and she has elevated our state on the global stage in the process.”
Porch has been a partner of the International Citizen of the Year Award for the past five years. Each year, along with The International Center’s Celebration, our team creates a video honoring the recipient, their achievements and contributions to Indiana. Honoring Tamika Catchings this year was especially enjoyable for our production team. In meeting those who know and love Tamika, they all had memory upon memory of good things to say about her and what she has done to help Indiana as a whole.

The New Harmony Project
St. Patrick’s Day is usually filled with green beer, lots of four leaf clover imagery and expensive uber rides. Two years ago (Spring of 2017), I spent my St. Patrick’s day at the Indiana Repertory Theatre for an evening conversation with Robert Schenkkan, a highly accomplished writer in theatre and film (Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1992 and writer of Hacksaw Ridge). It was an incredible experience to say the least – very intimate and personal. I was also fortunate to know some folks involved with the event and had the opportunity to sign up for a writing workshop with Mr. Schenkkan himself the following morning.

Innovative Nonprofit Storytelling
The United Way of Central Indiana is a nonprofit organization that fights for the education, financial stability, health, and basic needs of everyone in our community. 2020 was a busy, impactful year for the organization and Porch Marketing partnered with them to showcase many of their initiatives and achievements via video.
